May Niceville news

Greetings, family.  I assume Alicia sends you all links to our missionary girls' weekly news and pictures.  Here are a few shots of the rest of us.
Keyan, like the infamous "cat who came back" just keeps showing up in Niceville every few weeks.  And we love it.  Here he made it to a funeral for a sweet lady he and I both home taught over the past few years.  I tried to fill in for him after he left. I really like his suit.
Josh again taking his (homemade) boat out on Boggy Bayou.  If you can't read the name, I thought it was sweet of him to name it the Sarah Elizabeth after two of his sisters.
Lyrad and Alicia at Crystal Beach.  Though we live 15 minutes away we rarely go enjoy it, so here we are enjoying a date (while Josh went to see the new Avengers movie in a nearby mall.  I had a feeling the good guys would predictable win again after each getting blown up a few dozen times, so I chose to watch the waves instead.)
We had some water leaking behind the poorly installed backsplash in our rented home.  So I tried to do something I had never done before- install tile.  If was kind of fun, but like most of my projects, took longer than anticipated.
Alicia held a little recital for her piano students this afternoon. Josh is in the back, but looks about the same as in the picture above.
Another time Keyan stopped by at Eglin hospital.

We are looking forward to seeing almost all of you in a  few weeks in UT!  If you have any fun family pics to share, please post them here! Or send them to me to post for you.   Love- Lyrad

Florida Rileys

Alicia, Josh and I all made a 20-mile hike in one day, in the Blackwater St Forest, to finish Josh's Hiking merit badge!

Rachel and I celebrated her 17th  Bday with Chinese food

I recently visited our house in Vacaville (now rented out) to do some repairs.  I was a bit nostalgic, seeing our 7 handprints in a border there- ascending age order L to R

While in CA (Feb 15) , had a great hike with Dad along the middle fork of American River.  I'm the one without the beard.

Josh made his own sleeping bag, from scratch- glued the foam, sewed the nylon cover.  Now he's itching to try it out.  Maybe in June with the family reunion campout!

Hello all!  We are busy into summer but are really wishing Keyan was here to enjoy the beautiful Colorado summer with us. Sam just finished a BRAT camp at the Air Force Academy.... it was basic recreation adventure training... He got to go rappelling, rock climbing, mountain biking, and whitewater rafting.  Great fun  and Becky got to go along on a couple days for free!  Ben just did baseball camp and is looking forward to going out to Jason and Lora's to
Work for a couple weeks.

McConkies looking good on the Web ...

I am slowly starting to add some pics of family into FamilySearch.  It's fun to see faces with the names in the pedigree charts.  I invite you all to check out our tree on FamilySearch- I started with Ilene and her family.  Thanks to Cory for digitizing these years ago.  Please send me more if you want them preserved and linked to our ancestors!  I think it helps us all to love them and recognize them by sight.  Send stories or newspaper clips etc, and I'll see about posting them as well.
